🔗 Share this article Battlefield 6's Relaxed Playlist Ignites Heated Debates Over AI Players, XP Rewards, and Queue Times Over the weekend, Battlefield Studios launched a fresh game mode called Relaxed Breakthrough. To put it simply, this mode mirrors the regular Breakthrough format but includes a few key changes: Each team has only 8 human participants, with the remaining made up of 32 bots. Activities done by human gamers award full XP, while AI activities offer lower rewards. Just a pair of locations can be played: Cairo Siege and Empire State. Features like Player tags, accolades, and career stat updates have been turned off. In short, the playlist delivers on its title: it's a casual take of Breakthrough. On the surface, one could assume there's nothing wrong, as it provides additional choices for gamers seeking different ways to enjoy the game. However, gaming history have taught us anything, it's that you can't please everyone. In other words, many Battlefield 6 players are upset. Community Reactions: Anger to Praise "People want real players. Avoid making the errors of your rivals," reads one reply to the official announcement. "Absolutely shocking concept," says a different user. Meanwhile, on the Battlefield subreddit, one user remarks, "It's unclear where we are headed with this game," and someone else lists all the issues they believe to be problematic in the game: "Resolve glitches, address drone issues, fix IVF rockets, adjust aiming after sprinting, improve hit detection. We don't need this AI-heavy playlist." On the other hand, amid the criticism, there are players explaining how much they're enjoying the recent addition. "It's enjoyable to warm up, real players prevent it from being a complete grind but it's very relaxed," says a forum post. "The community doesn't understand that there are players who have lives and can't play this game all the time. Allow them to find a middle ground," states another. One reply on Twitter clarifies that as they're "a battledad with busy schedules, this is great for me," and someone else applauds the mode for "avoiding intense competition." Constructive Criticisms and Community Feedback All that said, there are valid points to criticize Casual Breakthrough. A few folks have pointed out that it could increase queue times more extended for different playlists because of the sheer number of options currently available. On a similar note, certain regions often face AI-filled matches in the current modes. It also seems a little backwards that the mode won't start without a required amount of human gamers, despite it focuses mostly on fighting AI opponents. Lastly, a major complaints is that Battlefield Portal was promised to offer complete rewards, including AI matches, but that got canned when they attempted to eliminate bot farms from the system. Thus Casual Breakthrough seems like the community meeting them halfway, according to forum feedback. Another labels this addition as the developers "making a mistake so hard, I had great enjoyment in the first couple of days, why did they feel the need to adjust it?" Future Prospects: Adjustments Occur? If Battlefield Studios has demonstrated something to date with the latest installment, it's that they're paying attention and acting on player input. Tasks that were overly hard got fixed rapidly, just like the specific battle pass objectives. Chances are that, should analytics shows this recent mode is underperforming to their standards, they won't be shy to make further modifications.
