This marks the third such release from a cache of more than 95,000 photographs the panel has obtained from Epstein's estate. It contains images of passages from the novel Lolita inscribed across a woman's body, and censored photos of female foreign passports. This disclosure comes mere hours before the December 19th due date for the Justice Department to release every files associated with its probe into Epstein. "These latest images raise further queries about exactly what the DOJ has in its possession," stated the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia. What is in the Images Released Some of the images made public on recently feature Epstein conversing with professor and activist Noam Chomsky on a personal aircraft; Bill Gates positioned next to a woman whose features is obscured; Steve Bannon positioned at a workstation across from Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event. Being pictured in the images is is not considered proof of any illegal activity, and several of the pictured individuals have stated they were not implicated in Epstein's illegal activity. In a announcement issued alongside the photo release, Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein estate's representatives did not offer background information or dates for the photographs. "Images were chosen to offer the general populace with openness into a typical cross-section of the images received from the estate, and to provide insights into Epstein's associates and his exceptionally troubling activities," the release says. Investigative Body The publication also includes multiple images of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita penned in dark ink across different parts of a female's body, such as her torso, foot, pelvis, and spine. Lolita tells the tale of a adolescent who was manipulated by a middle-aged literature professor. A particular quote from the novel written across a female's torso reads, "Lolita's name: the tip of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the roof of the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth". There are also a number of photos of female identification and identification documents from nations worldwide, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine. Oversight Panel Most of the data on the papers, like identities and birth dates, is censored but the House Oversight Committee stated in a statement that the travel documents pertain to "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with". An additional photograph features Epstein sitting at a table in close proximity surrounded by three female figures whose identities have been censored - one individual has her hand on Epstein's torso under his garment, and another is crouching to view a nearby computer. Oversight Panel A further photograph made public is a image of text messages from an unknown person who claims they have been sent "a number of girls" and are demanding "$1000 per girl". Photo Release Occurs Before DOJ Deadline The committee has thousands of photographs in its custody from the Epstein property, which are "both disturbing and mundane," its press release on this week noted. The Congressional committee first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on allegations of sex trafficking, in August. The photos and files the Epstein estate provided to the body are distinct from what is commonly called "the Epstein documents". That material are records in the Department of Justice's custody related to its separate probe into Epstein. In accordance with the recently passed law, which President Trump signed into law in November, the DOJ has until 19 December to disclose its files. The extent of what's included in the DOJ's records is not publicly known, and it's expected that much of the information will be significantly obscured, similar to Congressional documents
