She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. This signing is viewed as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League side. Her exit from Munich has been anticipated since she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the club's supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently. It was reported in late December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its top forwards. According to multiple sources, the formalities for the move are now finalised. Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen the Forward Line The 28-year-old’s signing should represent a major uplift to the team's forward line. Schüller has been highly consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga. For seven straight seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals. She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Building Steam at Old Trafford Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when United seem to be building momentum. Their recent performances include securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the Conti Cup quarter-finals. In the transfer market, the winter break has brought additional business: The acquisition of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal. The contract extension for Japanese playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, a popular figure since joining in 2023. On Miyazawa’s extension, a senior figure stated: “She has become a vital part to the way we play.
