🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Displeasure About Sizing Updates Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services. The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
