The British government is ready to advance with employing the full worth of immobilized Russia's assets to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this joint measure would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the move would be carried out in close cooperation with the US.

United Kingdom restrictions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since Russia initiated its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had solely been drawn from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to push forward toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to halt hostilities.

He added that more sanctions over the next period would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This statement comes after European leaders met in Copenhagen previously to debate utilizing frozen Russia's assets for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to confiscate or utilize frozen Russia's funds, as reported by media sources.

The worth of immobilized Russia's assets in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

Leader Zelensky urges Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to join the Purl program

Moscow executed large-scale bombardments throughout the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in blackouts in many areas of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

A pair of individuals were killed and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the strike, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the strike, Zelensky wrote that the cynical and calculated attack focused on public and utility structures.

"What's needed is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the America, the European Union, and the Group of Seven - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and implementing restrictions," he emphasized.

"Every sanction decision diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky told reporters he would press Sir Keir to join the Purl programme, under which alliance members buy arms from the US to provide to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he said it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the program, as well as apply additional restrictions on Moscow.
